Psychological Evaluations for Adolescents

Adolescence can be a time of great change and growth, or a period where significant clinical issues emerge in a dramatic fashion.  The testing process typically begins with a thorough clinical evaluation interview with Dr. Haarman.  Once the interview is completed Dr. Haarman formulates a battery of testing that is appropriate for the situation, and testing is scheduled.  The testing session may run between two to three hours depending on the nature of the problems and the battery of testing utilized.  A feedback session with Dr. Haarman is scheduled approximately two weeks after the testing session.  The adolescent can be present at the session, or not present, at the parents' discretion.  Parents are provided a written copy of the psychological evaluation.

The battery of tests typically involves:

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) or

The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale - Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV)

Woodcock-Johnson Individual Achievement Test - Third Edition (WJ-III) or

Wide Range of Achievement Test (WRAT)
